In 1977 Janice Kapp Perry published her first, and perhaps best known, missionary song: “In the Hollow of Thy Hand”. Since that time she has written extensively on this theme that is so close to her heart. Janice’s husband Douglas served a mission in France and Belgium, her mother served in Mississippi at age 70, and her four children served in Belgium, Korea, Washington DC, and Argentina. It is only fitting—on the 25th Anniversary of her first missionary song—that this CD collection is released as Doug and Janice leave to serve in the Chile Santiago West Mission.The impetus for this collection was to release on CD for the first time three missionary-themed albums: “We’ll Bring the World His Truth” (released in1983 with beautiful choral arrangements by Roger Hoffman); “A Time to Share” (released in1987), and “This I Believe” (released in 1987 by Janice and her cousin, lyricist Joy Saunders Lundberg, featuring songs to go along with missionary discussion themes). Seven other songs by Janice or her son Steven were taken from other albums and added to the mix. And finally, two new songs finish the collection: Lynne Perry Christofferson’s “Ever In His Debt” and Steven Kapp Perry’s “Here Am I, Send Me”—both written for Doug and Janice’s mission farewell.
